Why not be literal? INSIDE outHOUSE was born out of a small remodel project in Lake Campbell, SD. The scope of the project includes a second floor renovation and a bathroom addition to an early 20th century farmhouse. Our fascination with the stand alone scale and impromptu material quality of outhouses led to a design strategy that resulted in a direct transplant. Following the construction of this small project we have found opportunities to test and consider the use of an opportunistic form of "literalism".
