The proposed Site Museum operates at the intersection of a diverse history of military, religious, and urban conditions. As a response to the history of the Montemor-o-Novo site, the museum is embedded into the ground and serves as a container for artifacts that address the periods of Christian, Islamic, and Regal settlements. Opening westward towards the urban core, the program is organized around the simultaneity of these religious and political conditions. This simultaneity as well as the overlap between seemingly incompatible spatial ideas is fundamental to the study and observation of archaeological artifacts conducted at the Site Museum.
